DEATH 2 DATING
About Us
A dating platform built around intention, respect, and the idea that your time has value.
We think dating apps should reward real attention — not endless swiping, expensive subscriptions, or conversations that go to the abyss.
A different kind of dating app
Death 2 Dating was created around a simple idea: meeting people should be free, but starting a conversation should mean something. Instead of charging everyone a monthly subscription just to participate, Death 2 Dating is free to join, browse, build a profile, discover people, and make connections. You only pay when you decide you want to send someone a message.
That small change creates a very different dating experience. A paid message signals real interest. It asks the sender to be intentional, while recognizing that the person receiving the message is giving something valuable in return: their time and attention.
Your attention has value
When someone pays to message you, you share in that value. The recipient receives 50% of the message price: one half of that share when the message is read and the other half when a reply is sent. Rather than treating users as inventory, Death 2 Dating is designed so the people creating the experience participate directly in the economics of the platform.
There is also a 24-hour protection for senders. Using a $5 message as an example, $2.50 is allocated to the recipient and $2.50 to Death 2 Dating. If the recipient does not read or reply within 24 hours, the sender receives the recipient's full $2.50 share back, while the platform keeps its $2.50 share. If the recipient reads the message but does not reply within 24 hours, the recipient earns $1.25 for the read, the sender receives the remaining $1.25 back, and the platform keeps its $2.50 share. If the recipient reads and replies, the recipient earns the full $2.50 share.
You are never required to be interested in someone simply because they paid to reach you. You choose who you engage with, what you say, and whether a conversation continues. Payment creates an opportunity for a conversation — not an obligation to date, meet, share personal information, or provide a particular answer.
Better conversations, not more noise
Most dating platforms compete to maximize swipes, time in the app, and subscription revenue. Death 2 Dating is built to make each message more meaningful. Users can also choose to boost a message to the top of someone’s inbox, giving genuine interest a better chance to be seen without changing the recipient’s right to decide whether to respond.
Because replies can be rated by other users, the community also has a way to recognize thoughtful, respectful communication. Those ratings are intended to reflect the quality of a reply — not whether someone said yes, returned romantic interest, or gave the answer another person wanted. Rejection is part of dating. Respect is not optional.
Fairness goes both ways
The Death 2 Dating model works only when both sides of a conversation are treated fairly. Senders should communicate respectfully and understand that paying for a message does not purchase another person’s affection. Recipients who choose to reply should make a good-faith effort to send a genuine response rather than gaming the system for earnings. Ratings should be honest, specific, and never used as retaliation because someone declined a date, ended a conversation, or was not interested.
What we believe
Intent matters
A message should represent genuine interest, not mass outreach or spam.
Time has value
The people who make dating communities worth using should participate in the value they help create.
Respect is the price of admission
No one owes anyone attraction, a date, personal information, or a particular response.
Death to bad dating
The name may be playful, but the mission is serious. We want to move away from the parts of online dating that have become exhausting: endless subscriptions, low-effort messages, fake urgency, attention without accountability, and the feeling that users are simply being monetized.
Death 2 Dating is our attempt to build something different: a dating service where access is free, communication is intentional, attention is valued, and everyone is expected to treat the person on the other side of the screen like a person.
Real interest. Real conversations. A better reason to reply.
